Monica Purdy

Judge Monica Purdy is the Presiding Judge of the 95th Judicial District Court. She is campaigning for 5th District Court of Appeals, Place 6, in the 2026 election cycle. Judge Purdy is a longtime judge in Dallas County with a strong background in civil litigation. Her extensive trial experience and knowledge of civil law are key for the 5th Court of Appeals, which handles primarily civil appeals. Prior to being elected to the 95th Judicial District Court, Judge Purdy served as an Associate Judge to the State Civil District Courts, appointed in 2013.

She has also served as a Municipal Court Judge for the City of Dallas, and practiced civil litigation privately and for a prominent national law firm. Judge Purdy is a graduate of Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. She earned her undergraduate degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a past recipient of the prestigious Trial Judge of the Year Award from the American Board of Trial Advocates Dallas Chapter.
